Hi Victor,

I really enjoyed your video it spoke of my feelings to regarding twitter, I am very new to this myself only starting using the system a couple of days ago. I find it is good because of my geographical location (New Zealand); people can respond when they have time, and this gives me a presence on the web with my North American friends, or anybody around the world that I normally wouldn't have :-).

I have found it very difficult to get into the social networking thing like my space and various other things but this seems to work for me. And because I can just leave a very quick message, and when you or other people have time you can respond to me (and it keeps my visibility up).

I think what you bring to the Macintosh community is a real openness and friendliness which is very important married to an honesty :-) that's why I subscribe to your pod cast.

I have thought sometimes about sending you some audio comments, but I get a little bit nervous and I wonder whether what I have to contribute is worthwhile enough.

I will also send you an audio comment on a number of things, I'm not sure about it being broadcast though I'm a little bit nervous :-)

keep up the good work :-) and I will do as much content and feedback as I am able to

Malcom, thanks for taking the time to write. Send the audio comments, I may use them or I may not but the good part is that it's yet another way to communicate. This is all about stretching ourselves and bringing the web world closer together because of common interests.

I've never really been into IM'ing or the chats. As for Twitter, I can't get my 3 friends interested.... But I have been putting occasional thoughts and comments on my professional activities -- Mac support and Commercial Photography ... Sandro

Hi, Victor.
I wouldn't stress over the Twitter thing. What you're doing is fine. I follow you because I enjoy your work, It informs, teaches and entertains me. What more could I want. Your Twitter feed alerts me to your various online pursuits and no I don't consider it spam.

My use of Twitter tends to be reactive. I follow 200 or so people and my tweets tend to be reactions to something I've read. Sure every now and then I feel the need to say something but that is a rarity. Once again Victor, keep tweeting away and thanks for the great content you provide. Cheers!

I mainly use twitter as another RSS feed as I subscribe to people are publicly known in the Mac community. I don't know anyone personally on twitter, nor do I know of any of my friends that are on twitter. People and news websites comment or post links in their tweets and that helps me to be an informed citizen no matter what the topic is.

For me Twitter is my social peripheral vision. It lets me keep up with what people I don't see regularly are up to. Have they been at an interesting conference? Have they been to a good pub? What are they watching on YouTube? What software are they using? Are they liking it? What are they out photographing? Or, in the case of the Phoenix Mars Lander, what great sience is it up to today.

Victor, I use Twitter to post quips about things that happen "out of the ordinary" for me. It works for me because they're thoughts/experiences that I feel are best shared. The 140 character limitation is brilliant because it forces everyone to be succinct!

As a loyal follower of TMUP, I appreciate your transparency here and I think the Flip Mino videos are great. I think that Twitter has endless possibilities, and I feel that you do a good job of putting useful information without the "Cheese Sandwich" posts that many people are putting up. One thing that I feel continues to add benefit to your podcast and blog is the constant contact that you work so hard to achieve. I would like for you to twitter about products that you are reviewing or have found helpful to you relating to Mac. Just to say that you have reviewed something brings value, so get an affiliate code for all of these things and use the money to buy new stogies!

I don't know, Victor...I think some of the "hip" Twitterers really end up lacking in content. People glom on to them to try to catch some of the aura. I'd rather have fewer posts and content than a zillion posts of posturing.

I'm enjoying the video posts immensely.

Victor, from my context you are SPOT ON. I just started using Twitter as a means to inform of new posts and the such to my website and the such. I have also created a YouTube account and post a intro video in three different formats to play around with the quality. I think the quality on all three suck. Your videos look great, perhaps you could share with us the format that you use to post up on YouTube as well as the tools and techniques you use.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm new to blogging, and all the whole web 2.0 thing. It's been a great learning experience, and a great way to get info. I found that twitter scared the heck out of me at first. You actually want me to tell the whole world what I'm doing, aren't I suppose to hide my info on the web? I to use twitter to show website updates, and I won't lie I use it to up my traffic. I think most people do. i've also tried to be funny and now I'm starting to link to other sites I enjoy. I also fear that I was spamming people, and now I only show when I make new posts on my site. I feel that is people don't like it they can stop following me. I have to say I was impressed with the video to I don't think I could talk for 6 minutes and make sense like you did. I am a little mad at you though I want a cigar now, and I'm no where near a smoke shop. See you on twitter I already follow you.

and i really think smoking is bad!
